Range of fibre optic dead ends or FODEs covering sizes 3.0 to 7.2mm.

The PLP Fiberlign® range of fibre optic dead ends or FODEs has been developed to meet with new generation of ADSS cables having a micromodule structure.

The radial force is distributed over a length with even pressure in order to minimise the strain on the cable and ensure long term performance life of optical fibres.

The PLP Helical Fibre Optic-Dead-End (FODE) range has been developed to ensure that current and new generations of overhead telecoms cables are deployed safely and effectively.
The helical design ensures that radial force is distributed evenly across the clamp to ensure even pressure to minimise cable strain and ensure long term performance in protecting the internal fibers and external cable construction.

Specification
PLP FODE’s were originally designed in conjunction with BT to meet PIA CP08 standards. The FODE is specifically devised to ensure that the overhead cable is sufficiently restrained and will break within the 2 kN threshold required for BT cable\clamp combined certification. For spans up to 70 metres.
