EM Wrap Microduct Closure

Ensuring that microduct joints are adequately protected in a blown fibre system is an important factor that needs to be considered by all network owners and installers.

The new EM-Wrap closure can be used universally over multiple tube bundle diameters from 20mm up to 40mm (including connectors).

EM-Wrap can be used as a protective barrier for straight joints and branch joints when branching microducts.

 

Design

The single layer gel wrap closure when wrapped around tube bundles, gives mechanical protection when buried in the ground, installed in access chambers, or used in overhead networks.

The doublelayer EM-Wrap closure when wrapped around tube bundles, gives mechanical protection when buried in the ground, installed in access chambers, or used in overhead networks. A second inner layer offers additional water resistance after installation.

The Emwrap closure has been designed to fit over tube bundles, when a joint or branch is required. It is ideal for FTTH applications, whether the microducts are overhead, ducted or buried.

The installation is easy by simply wrapping the rubber sheath around the tube bundles and inserting the tabs through their corresponding openings to form a sealed wrap. Cable ties are then applied to secure the closure in place.

This closure is ideal for offering additional protection, especially for PIA / DPA installations.

*Emtelle conducted multiple in-house tests of the 2-Layer EM-Wrap product design to the IP rating test requirements and there were no leaks apparent. This has been deemed compliant to the framework of IP67 rating against the ingress of liquid. *IP67 rated for straight joint & upto 4 x Ø7mm drop ducts (2 from each direction) when using additional amalgamating tape.
